Baby Dalton and his Adorable Hair - A Sweet Newborn Session - Florence SC

Little Dalton arrived at my Florence SC studio on a chilly December morning, just two days before New Year's Eve. He came into the world with a head full of adorable dark hair and perfect tiny features.

Baby Dalton Takes Center Stage

Dalton was an absolute dream during his session. He slept peacefully through most of our time together, letting me capture those sweet newborn details that change so quickly. His dark, spiky hair was absolutely adorable and gave him so much personality right from the start. We worked through several setups, from simple white wraps to cozy textured blankets in soft blues and warm tans.

One of my favorite moments was when he briefly woke up and gave us those alert, curious looks that newborns sometimes do. His little fists stayed clenched tight, and I made sure to capture those tiny details like his perfect little hands and feet that parents treasure forever.

Big Brother Calixto Steals a Few Hearts

Toddler big brother Calixto was an excited big brother who brought so much joy to the session. He was curious about his new little brother and so gentle when he sat next to Dalton on the tufted cream sofa. The way he looked at his sleeping baby brother was just precious, and you could see the wonder in his eyes as he tried to process this new addition to his world.

Calixto was patient during the family portraits too, which isn't always easy for toddlers. He stayed close to mom and dad, and even though he was more interested in exploring the studio than posing, we got some beautiful shots of him as the proud big brother.

Family Portraits Full of Love

You can easily tell mother Maravida and father Barry are very proud of their growing family because it showed in every frame. Maravida looked beautiful in her royal blue dress, and Barry's denim shirt gave the whole family a relaxed, coordinated look without being too matchy. They took turns holding Dalton, and the love they have for both their boys was obvious.

We did some classic family groupings on the white backdrop, and I loved how natural they all looked together. Even when Calixto got a little restless, his parents stayed calm and patient, which made for more authentic moments. Some of my favorite shots were the quieter ones, like when Barry held Dalton close, or when Maravida cradled her new baby with that peaceful expression that new moms get.

A Final Thought

The session wrapped up with Dalton still sleeping soundly and big smiles to go around. It's always such an honor to document these first days with a new baby, especially when you can see how much love already surrounds them.
