A Fun Fall Family Session with the Crouch Family

The Crouch family walked into our first fall session of 2025, and it felt like welcoming old friends home. Lance and Britney have been part of our story for years, even before they became a family of four with daughters Brynn and Olivia.

Starting at Home

We began the session at their beautiful farmhouse, where autumn wreaths decorated the front porch and their golden retriever waited patiently to be part of the family portraits. The girls settled easily onto the porch steps in cozy sweaters, and you could see how comfortable they were being photographed. When you've known a family this long, the camera becomes less of an intrusion and more of a natural part of the moment.

The front porch shots captured a different kind of warmth. There's something special about photographing families in their own space, watching them interact naturally. Lance and Britney's easy connection shows in every frame, while Brynn and Olivia's sisterly bond comes through whether they're laughing together or sharing quiet moments.

Golden Hour Magic - A True Carolina Blessing!

As the afternoon light began to soften, we moved to the golden fields nearby. This is where the magic really happened. The November sun created that perfect warm glow that makes fall sessions so special in South Carolina. Brynn and Olivia ran ahead, their blonde hair catching the light as they explored the wooden fence and open field.

One of the things I love about working with families I know well is that we can focus on capturing everyone’s true personalities instead of spending time getting comfortable with each other. The girls were naturals, switching between individual portraits and sweet sister shots without missing a beat.

Individual Moments

Both Brynn and Olivia had their own special moments during the session. Brynn's confidence shines through in her portraits, whether she's leaning against the wooden fence or walking through the golden field. Her smile is infectious, and she has this natural ability to connect with the camera that makes my job easy.
Olivia has her own quiet grace that comes through beautifully in her individual shots. She has this thoughtful way of looking at the world that translates into stunning portraits. Watching her interact with her family, you can see the bonds that tie this family together.

The Family Connection

What strikes me most about the Crouch family is how they genuinely enjoy being together. Lance and Britney have built something beautiful with their girls, and it shows in every single photograph. From the playful family huddles to the quiet hand-holding moments, their connection is real and unforced.

These are the moments that matter. Not just the perfectly posed portraits, but the in-between seconds where real life happens. The way Britney smooths Olivia's hair, or how Lance naturally puts his arm around Brynn. The genuine laughter when someone says something funny. These details tell the real story of who they are as a family.

Working with the Crouches reminds me why I love what I do. There's something special about documenting families as they grow and change. Our oldest son was their ringbearer years ago, and Britney worked as our office manager for several years. She still helps us every December during our Santa sessions. These connections make Florence feel like the small community it truly is.

This session perfectly captured where the Crouch family is right now, with two beautiful daughters growing into their own personalities while staying rooted in the love Lance and Britney have created. Fall sessions always have this bittersweet beauty to them, capturing families in a season of change and gratitude.

Each Spring and Fall are the main times we offer professional family photo sessions. Since these are essentially Limited Edition Sessions, they do tend to fill quickly so don’t delay booking your session when you get our email announcement. If you are not on our email list, be sure to join at the link on our home page. Each year we try to open up a limited number of dates professional beach photo sessions as well.
