We've been photographing Hayden since she was a young girl, so celebrating her turning 21 felt like capturing a full-circle moment. Her and her mom Kelly are like family to us, and seeing Hayden all grown up now as a nursing student, full of life and confidence, is pretty amazing.
Studio Looks That Show Her Personality
Hayden brought such great energy to this session, like she always does. We kept things simple with a classic white shirt and jeans, but switched up the backdrops and props to give her variety.
Her curly hair was absolutely gorgeous throughout the session. We captured everything from big laughs to thoughtful moments, and that natural smile of hers just lights up every frame. The ripped jeans added the perfect casual touch while keeping everything age-appropriate and timeless.
Making It Personal
One cool part of the session was when she brought out the newspaper with "THIS IS 21" printed on it. She held it up with a huge grin. We even brought out some champagne for a few celebratory shots. She's worked so hard to get where she is and she definitely deserves to celebrate! Memorable moments and special touches help make portrait sessions like this special and unique. It's not just about pretty pictures, it's about celebrating who they are right now.
The Girl We've Watched Grow Up
What strikes me most about Hayden is how she's grown into herself. The little girl we started photographing years ago has become this confident and comfortable young woman who's pursuing nursing and taking on the world. Her laugh is still the same, but there's this new maturity and grace that comes through now. And of course she’s a pro now at helping me nail each shot.
Kelly raised an incredible daughter, and it's been such a privilege to document this journey. From childhood portraits to this milestone 21st birthday session, we've been able to capture all types of special and important moments through the years. Hayden's story is still being written, and I have a feeling the best chapters are yet to come!
