Ideally within the first 2 weeks of their birthdate. Your newborn sleeps deeply and is very flexible in these first 2 weeks after birth, which gives us a better chance of getting those cute sleepy shots, and being able to pose baby in all sorts of curled up positions (just like they were in the womb!).
Although we can of course do newborn sessions with older babies, they are more likely to be awake during the session and may not be able or willing to bend into all poses. We always read baby's cues and never force them to do something they aren't comfortable with.
Yes you can as long as we have availability in our schedule. There are certain months that are fuller than others so there isn't a guarantee that we will be able to fit you in last minute. But it never hurts to check with us!
So we typically only schedule our newborn sessions during the week, during the day. However we do understand that on a rare occasion, that may not work for our client. We do try everything we can to accommodate but our weekends are usually pretty full with our regular life plans (we have 3 boys and we are also very involved with serving in our church).
This will depend on a few factors. A newborn session done in your home will look and feel very different than the pictures you see represented on our website. But they are still amazing pictures!! This session would not be as posed and would be considered more of a lifestyle type session that includes more pictures with the parents and siblings as well as the surroundings in your home. We can discuss this further if you have your heart set on this type of session. There is an extra fee for this session since it does usually take a bit longer than normal. Just reach out!
Yes! We are more than happy to break up your costs. You are able to pay towards your session while you are pregnant and then once you have placed your order, you are allowed up to 3 months to pay the remainder. Once final payment is made, we will have your products ready for pickup or delivery.
You do not have to bring anything except baby, diapers and baby milk. We have plenty of props, wraps, accessories, hats, headbands, wipes, etc to do the whole session without anything else from you. However, if there is something in particular that is meaningful to you that you want to try to incorporate into the session you are are more than welcome to bring it. As long as baby cooperates, we will do our best to include what you bring.
Yes! You will receive plenty of information with suggestions from us as to what to wear for your session. We will provide you with lots of preparation information for you to read over before your session so you should have a pretty good idea of what to expect overall.
No, if there are older siblings participating in the pictures, I typically try to get the family and sibling pictures done more towards the beginning of the session. This way if dad or grandma wants to leave with the other kids (especially toddlers), then they have that option to. Whatever is easiest and more relaxing for YOU!
At the session, we will schedule a date/time for you to come back into see your pictures and place your order. We try to get you in within a week. So based on our schedule and yours, that could be 3-14 days. Once you place your order, we usually have your products ready in about 4 weeks. We will then arrange for you to either pick them up from the studio or we may even hand deliver them to you!
I would say a safe rule of thumb would be to book your session about 3-6 months before you want to do the session. We only take a certain number of boudoir sessions per month and some months are busier than others so it's hard to say if you would be able to get in last minute. It's definitely worth asking though. You never know if I happen to have a cancellation and something opens up.
Getting your products back from your session can take 4-6 weeks. So if you are needing these back for a special occasion (anniversary, birthday, wedding, etc) just be sure to take that time in to account when setting up your session time.
Since the boudoir session can take a total of 4-5 hours, we can only book 1 of these per day. We typically schedule on Mondays 1pm, Wednesdays 1pm and Fridays 11am. This can vary depending on mine and my makeup artist's schedules but this is a good rule of thumb.
I'm very sorry but probably not. UNLESS we are doing a Boudoir Themed Blast (where we book smaller themed sessions back to back done on the very occasional Saturday). But mainly because I have a husband and 3 boys that keep me very busy on the weekends and we are also very committed to serving in our church on Sundays.
Yes! We are more than happy to break up your costs. You are able to pay towards your collection leading up to your session and then once you have placed your order, you are allowed up to 3 months to pay the remainder. Once final payment is made, we will have your products ready for pickup or delivery.
You will arrive to your session with a clean face and recently washed hair (just sometime within the past 24 hours). We suggest that you bring at least 3-5 different outfit looks. This can be lingerie, bra/panty sets, oversize sweater, men's button up dress shirt, lace bodysuit, really the options are endless. You do not have to bring shoes but it does add a nice addition for some pictures. And then jewelry we really just leave that up to you. You know what you like .... less or more. But by bringing all of these items, I will discuss with you what you like and don't like about each of them. Then I will make my game plan as far as which articles of clothing we will be including in your session. Props are not necessary but we can certainly add in some personal items to make it fun and unique.
YES YES YES! Seriously, all you have to do is follow directions. And if you aren't good at following directions, then I will literally show my myself or physically move you around how I need to. I will place you, I will pose you from the top of your head all the way down to your toes and fingertips, literally!! This is where my expertise SHINES! I know what I'm doing when it comes to posing and getting the best possible angles for every body shape and size. Don't get me wrong, you will look like YOU but the very best version. And I will go ahead and warn you, that you might be a little sore the next day only because you might be holding some poses and using some muscles that you aren't used to using on a daily basis.
You will see your pictures the day of your session! The timeline goes like this.... Arrive at your appt time, we will go through your clothing and accessories, hair and makeup starts, shooting begins, then we take a 25-35 minute break for you to gather your things and I will run through your images and do a light edit to them. THEN we will go through your images right then and there on our large TV. So this is when you will decide on your order and we make image selections together. The whole thing is such a great experience!!
