Brooks' First Birthday Cake Smash Session in Florence, SC

Little Brooks turned one, and honestly, I don't know where the year went. This sweet boy came into my Florence studio for his first birthday session, and he was all smiles from the moment he came in.

The Birthday Boy Steals the Show

Brooks was absolutely glowing during his session. Those bright blue eyes and that infectious smile had me grinning behind my camera the entire time. We started with some classic portraits in his cream knit romper, and he was such a natural. He sat perfectly in the wooden crate, then moved over to the turquoise vintage chair like he owned the place.

The wooden toy car was a huge hit. Brooks grabbed onto it and didn't want to let go, which made for some adorable candid shots. He even stood by the little white bench, car in hand, looking so proud of himself.

The Cake Smash Fun

Then came the main event. Brooks changed into his blue outfit and climbed into the vintage wooden high chair, ready for some cake action. The white frosted cake didn't stand a chance against this little guy. He went right for it with both hands, and that smile never left his face.

The mess was absolutely perfect. Frosting on his hands, cake crumbs everywhere, and Brooks just living his best life. These are the moments that make cake smash sessions so special. Pure joy, zero inhibitions, and one very happy birthday boy.

Those Little Details

Between setups, I caught some of my favorite shots of the day. Brooks sitting cross-legged on the white backdrop, his tiny bare feet on display. Those little toes are just too precious. And when he held up the white ONE letters, it hit me how much he's grown since his newborn session.

The soft studio lighting in my Florence location really brought out his features beautifully. Every smile, every curious look, every messy cake moment was captured with that warm, natural feel I love creating for families.

Creating Birthday Memories

Brooks' first birthday session was everything a cake smash should be. Fun, messy, and full of genuine happiness. His parents are going to treasure these images as he continues to grow and change. There's something magical about capturing that transition from baby to toddler, right at the one-year mark.
