Do you offer digital images on CD?

YES!  We are one of the only professional photography studios in the area to gladly offer this option!  Over 90% of our clients prefer to get high resolution printable images, so by far, it is definitely everyone’s favorite choice!  Digital images give you the flexibility to get as many prints up to size 8×10 in whatever quantities you desire as well as giving you the ability to share your photos online.   Keep in mind, digital images ONLY become available as a reward after your pre-tax minimum purchase of other products reaches $500.  The more items you purchase, the more digital images you can select!

Where should I get my prints made? Do you have a preference or recommendation?

YES, YES, YES!  Your images are irreplaceable artwork with hours of planning, shooting & editing time invested to deliver the best quality images possible.  For this reason, we highly discourage you from using local labs like Sam’s, Walgreens, Wal-Mart and etc.  Unfortunately, these places do not offer the level of quality your images deserve.  We cannot stress this enough so without hesitation, our recommendation is www.mpix.com .  They offer professional consumer lab services, they are quick and your prints will be shipped directly to your home.  The prices are comparable and even lower than some local labs and there is no comparison in the level of quality!

When should I book my session?

It is always best to contact us as soon as possible to reserve your date & time, especially if you have a certain day or time frame in mind.  Keep in mind that weekends always book first because of weddings and the special themed mini sessions planned throughout the year.  We suggest booking weddings & newborns as soon as you possibly can!

Tell me more about your Newborn sessions?

  • Newborns are a specialty of mine and I personally believe that being a mother adds a certain level of nurturing & expertise that only a mother could provide for these types of sessions!
  • Except for special circumstances, all Newborn sessions take place in my studio during weekdays.
  • When photographing newborns, I do not recommend any outfits or clothing unless it is a very special article of clothing (family heirloom, sports onesie, etc)
  • You are encouraged to bring any family heirlooms, mementos, special props and etc. but we do also have lots of accessories & props in the studio as well.
  • Newborn sessions should be scheduled before the baby is born.  Some clients call as soon as they know their due date so we can go ahead and “pencil” them in.  Once I am notified that you have had your baby, I will send you a couple times to choose from with in those first 2 weeks.
  • Newborns take time to photograph.  They need cuddle time, soothing between positions, feeding breaks and etc.  This is why all newborn sessions usually take anywhere from 2-3 hours.  Perfection takes time!

What are some good Newborn prop ideas to bring?

Good question!  Some of the most popular items are things that mean a lot you, your career(s), your family and etc.  Items like:

  • Favorite sports team apparel… jerseys, hats, flags, etc.
  • Career related items & attire… fireman’s coat, boots & helmet, Dr.’s stethoscope, law books, Military attire, police badge, architecture drawing tools, signs or items from your workplace or store, etc.
  • Family heirlooms… clocks, cribs, books, outfits, etc.
  • Hobbies… fishing gear, hiking boots, etc.
  • There are TONS of adorable items on etsy.com!!
  • Miscellaneous ideas… the tickets from the first movie you & your spouse went to on your 1st date, a miniature horse because you love horses, antique items, and anything else special to you in some way that you feel would personalize the photos of your newborn!

What do I need to know about “On Location” Sessions?

I prefer to do as many sessions outside as possible excluding newborns and babies.  I do ALL family and maternity sessions on location.  I recommend that my clients think of somewhere that is meaningful to them or their family (1st place you met, family land, favorite place to have a picnic, etc).  I do however have a few locations around the Florence area that I can recommend if you just can’t think of a place.  Unfortunately, the weather doesn’t always cooperate.   I cannot predict the weather but will try my hardest to let you know ahead of time if I feel that the weather is going to hinder our session.  At that time we will reschedule.

What should we wear?

I am a color fanatic so of course colors are my favorite rather than muted fashions.  Layers always work and coordinating outfits are preferred over matching items.  But that’s just me!  You should wear what you feel comfortable in but don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!

Be sure to also see the section above concerning newborns.

H.S. Seniors should wear your favorite fashions and outfits that reflect who you are and what you love!

Do you have assistants or are you the only photographer?

I am the only photographer except for some weddings & events where an assistant photographer is desired or needed.  When it comes to regular sessions with children, I have the best assistant ever – my oldest son Rocky!  He helps with nearly all my sessions and my clients & their children have come to LOVE him!

Do you personally edit each image?

Yes! My photography is a passion and the images I capture are artwork in my eyes so every image I make available after a session has been professionally edited/retouched to ensure the highest quality.   This is another reason we highly recommend using a professional consumer lab like mpix.com for your prints.

When and how do we pay?

  • We accept cash, check and credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Amex).
  • Our online ordering system only accepts credit/debit cards.
  • Cash & checks can be dropped off at our home studio.  Checks can also be mailed.
  • Your session fee is due at the time of your booking.
  • Deposits are non-refundable and rescheduling is permitted but should be done as soon as possible once you become aware of a conflict or problem with your appointment date/time.
  • Your $250 Minimum Order Retainer is due at the session and redeemed at the Ordering Session.

Do you photograph weddings?

Absolutely! I love getting to know a couple and being a part of their big day!  I try to book weddings as far out as possible so be sure to get in touch as soon as you can to begin planning.  My style is photo-journalistic and I love capturing the many special timeless moments that go into each and every wedding I’m blessed to be a part of!  Please contact me to schedule your “No Obligation” 1-on-1 Consultation where we can discuss the details of your big day and all your needs.  Then I can help you find the perfect package to meet your needs.  Even if you decide to go with another photographer, I still want to give you some helpful information to help you make wise decisions when it comes to hiring any type of professional for your wedding!
